Crazy weather!!

Hola,

This is the craziest weather we have ever experienced. We wake up and the mountain is covered in clouds, we come back from breakfast and the sky is blue, we go swimming and it starts to rain, so we come back up to the room and by the time the girls are done showering, it is sunny again. An hour later the sky is super dark and it's storming, an hour later it's clearing up and we go out to eat, by the time we are done eating it is raining again. Unbelievable!!!

We did enjoy our time at the pool today. They had a violinist in the pool-side restaurant; it was so nice to lay back and listen to the beautiful classical music. Believe it or not, Bethany has said a few times the last couple of days that she misses her violin. In addition, when we've gone into restaurants, she looks around for a piano. Unfortunately we haven't found one.

Tonight we went to dinner across the street again to the Colombian restaurant. The family from NYC joined us. It was so nice to have conversation with another American couple, but it was a little crazy with four children. I think the servers were very happy to see us leave; they were very nice, but you could tell it was wearing on them. Again, the meal was very good.

In the gift shop here at the hotel, I picked up a cookbook entitled "The Medellin Gourmet". It's an international cookbook written by the women here in Medellin. Many of the recipes looked fairly simple, so I thought another cookbook wouldn't hurt. I just want a good variety of dishes that Windy is going to enjoy eating.

Jennifer, according to the doctor, Windy's nosebleeds that day came from where she got bumped in the nose. Fortunately, we have not had anymore incidents.

Marie, the girls did get your notes and Windy said that she could understand hers. I think she really enjoyed it... thanks!!

Jim and I both want to thank all of you that have kept us in prayer and for all of you that have sent encouraging words. It has all meant so much to us... thank you!!

The hotel has emptied out... how nice; it's much quieter. Well, that's about it for today.

Chao,
Kathy

Just a quick note. Kathy, a book arrived Saturday from Barnes & Noble, maybe your cookbook?? Also, Paul & Michelle Cooper had a accident pulling into church this morning. They were making a left turn into the church and a man in a car was being chased by the police passed them as they were making a left turn into the church. They said their car was total and Paul & Michelle were taken to the hospital and both seem to be fine and are at home. Their child didn't get hurt. Praise GOD. Love you all!! "Dad"

Just wanted to say hi! Things have been a little crazy the last few days so I haven't had much time to post...just read. :)

Sounds like things are still going well. We might have to check out the restaurant across the street from the IC when my parents are staying there.

Hey, Kathy,
Since it is a lot more calm around there now - Jim should be OK with the two of you getting your picture taken with one of the armed guards or police. Common, Jim - be a sport!!

Love you!!! Di
